186
shipped to consignees approved by the Foreign office,
it appears to us that the fact that the goods lie for
perhaps a few days in the go downs of the Hong Kong Docks,
can only constitute a nominal infringement of the Colonial
Government's Order, which, in view of the detrimental
effect it would otherwise have on Shippers, they might
be prepared to waive.
We would still ask considera-
tion of this point, as whilst most readily falling in
with all necessary orders issued, however much they
interfere with the progress of our business, we do venture
to hope that a purely nominal requirement such as that
under consideration, might be re-considered.
we are sir,
Yours obediently,
DAKIN BROTI.
